Draw Near to God

The Bible Bus with Dr. McGee is in Job right now. (June 2023)

Dr. McGee pointed out that:

Eliphaz in his third speech at Job says one good thing.

“Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace:

thereby good shall come unto thee.”

Job 22:21

Although Eliphaz meant it differently, it does say much

to us today.

Salvation Verses from the Bible

The Bible teaches that no one is perfect.

Romans 3:10  As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

In fact, the Bible teaches that everyone is a sinner.

Romans 3:23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

It teaches that death is the punishment for our sin, but that God offers life as a gift.

Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The Bible says that Jesus took our payment of death, when we were yet unrepentant.

Romans 5:8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Jesus did this for us because of His great love for us.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

But if all that Jesus did was to die, that is no different than all that we can do. It was His resurrection from the dead that becomes our salvation. So the Bible teaches that we must only call upon Jesus, believing that He truly died and was actually made alive again in order to receive His salvation gift.

Romans 10:9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

We do not earn our way to heaven for salvation is a gift from God.

Ephesians 2:8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Ephesians 2:9  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

It does not matter how much we have sinned; Jesus always forgives.

1 John 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Would you like to accept Jesus as your personal Savior?

Pray to the Lord like this:

“God, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus died and rose again because of my sin. I know that I deserve to die. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided the forgiveness of all my sin. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen!”

Now you should read and study the Bible every day and find a church that teaches the Bible.

Continue in learning the Bible to grow in the wisdom and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 3:18  But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
