You often hear the verses from the Bible concerning ants when someone is speaking about how Christians are not to be lazy. I agree with this, but have you ever considered that there are other things about the ant we should consider?
I have had little black ants repeatedly, over the years, trying to get inside my house. They would come in one place and I would block that spot along with killing several of them. They would find another place to enter and I would block their entry point and kill several. Then they would find another place, and another place, and another place… Think about the persistence, never quitting, always looking for another way, sticking with the job even when hundreds died, determined, determined, determined…
We should consider the ways of the ant beyond its work ethic. Do we as Christians persist, never quit, always look for another way, stick with the job no matter the cost, always determined, determined, determined…

Which, having no captain, Overseer or ruler,
Provides her supplies in the summer, And gathers her food in the harvest.
How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep?
A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep—
So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler, And your need like an armed man.
There are four things which are little on the earth, But they are exceedingly wise:
The ants are a people not strong, Yet they prepare their food in the summer;
